Having enjoyed competing in a strongman competition earlier this year, I recently made the decision to have a go at powerlifting. I’ve been looking for a strength/fitness based sport to compete in and powerlifting is a sporting endeavour that I think I am well suited to – for a couple of reasons:

Diets come in all shapes and sizes – high protein diets, low fat diets, low carbohydrate diets, low calorie diets – and some involve very specific (and complex) rules and food choices.

It can be hard to find snacks that are both nutritious and tasty. Our supermarkets are lined with chips, biscuits, confectionery and cakes – which may be nice to eat, but are not healthy, and are not ideal daily snack foods.
