Instructions

Place a box/weights bench or step that is approximately 2 ft high in front of a squat rack. Stand with your back against the rack, with the bar positioned so that it is inline with your chest height. Place the bar on your upper back and facing the box, with feet shoulder width apart, step up on to the box with one foot. The box should be approximately 1-2 ft away from you. Focus on driving up through your heel to bring your body up, then place the other leg on the box. Step down with the opposite leg, and then repeat on the other side.

Tips

For some people, this step height may be a little high. You can progress from a smaller box height.
