Instructions

Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart, core braced and lean slightly forward. Let the dumbbells hang at your sides, directly under your shoulders, with your palms facing your thighs (a neutral grip).

While keeping your arms straight and not bending at your elbows, lift your shoulders up towards your ears. Then lower back down with control. Repeat for the programmed amount of repetitions.

Tips

Do not perform this exercise by rolling your shoulders. Only move them up and down.

Leaning forward slightly shifts the emphasis toward your middle and lower trapezius muscles. Standing perfectly upright would isolate the upper trapezius.
