Instructions

Deadlifts with chains can be done with with either a conventional stance or a sumo stance (this video shows the side angle of a sumo stance). Review these videos to see the set-up and execution of these lifts.

Tip

Place the chains on the outside of the weight plates. The purpose of the chains is the create more resistance as you lift the bar off the ground, making you have to work harder at the top end of the deadlift.
